Sometimes we laugh
A little exchange in dialect with Mrs Anna Maria, for ten years an AVO volunteer: sometimes, in the care home, you laugh from the heart.
A brief exchange between me and a resident, a fine day of cheer.
Riccardo: “try to sing”.
Mrs Anna Maria: “I don’t sing, I talk!”.
Riccardo: “that song from Concorezzo!”.
Mrs Erminia: “you sing the Concorezzo song well!”.
Mrs Anna Maria starts to sing: “I tusan da Cuncuress van in gêsa bei caves, caves ben petenà, ti ta ga ne minga da petenà!” (Riccardo has a fine shaved head!).
Laughter…
Riccardo: “let’s carry on with the song, I tusan da Cuncuress… and then…”.

Mrs Anna Maria: “i caves sono i cavéi, lui ha tirà via tucc i cavéi!” (laughter…).
L’è béla o no?!
Riccardo: “enough laughing…”.
Mrs Anna Maria: “enough, no more touching the cavéi!”.
Riccardo: “I don’t have any hair left… so how does the song end?”.
Mrs Anna Maria: “I tusan da Cuncuress van in gêsa bei caves, caves” (laughter…).
Riccardo: “yes, I get it” (laughter…).
Mrs Anna Maria: “Vegnan fora a dü a dü per pagüra da burlà giù” (laughter…).
Mrs Anna Maria: “L’è béla o no?!”.
(Mrs Anna Maria was an AVO volunteer for ten years.)
